Friday night’s game on the 14th June between Hunslet RLFC vs Doncaster was entertained by 10 of our local schools, club’s development officer Michael Nuttall has been working in. The schools competed in a Duathlon event with 120 students competing across all 10 schools. Each school brought 12 children to go head to head in a Duathlon event at the stadium which consisted of running and cycling. Schools in attendance were Hunslet St Marys, Hunslet Carr, Middleton St Marys, Clapgate Primary, Rothwell Primary, Beeston St Francis, St Francis of Assisi, Blackgates Primary, Westwood Primary and Gildersome Primary. A massive thank you to all the schools that entered the competition, all the staff at the schools, the students, the volunteers, the parents of the children and all the supporters. Also, a massive thank you to Rich Sadler and Jason Minnot from Active Leeds for helping put the event together and all the volunteers. The event was put on through the partnership between Hunslet Rugby Foundation, Active Leeds and Positive Futures. Despite very wet conditions they all did a fantastic job and we wish to invite them again to the stadium in the future.
